As an Integrative Therapist, I offer a comprehensive and highly collaborative approach in a safe, fun and compassionate setting.
My theoretical underpinnings are informed by attachment theories of human development which determine our interpersonal basis for relationships. When working with individuals, together, we seek to understand the attachment wounds developed in childhood and how your style impacts your relationship with yourself and others.
You can transform your life by transforming the way your brain and nervous system are wired. I combine a range of evidence based, yet "cutting edge" holistic modalities such as the TRM (Trauma Resiliency Model), EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing), IFS (Internal Family Systems), NLP (Neurolinguistic Programming) and Mindfulness.
I have served in helping professions since 1987. I received my Master's degree in counseling psychology at Western Carolina University in 2000 and my Bachelor's degree in Economics from Mills College in 1985. I was ordained as an interfaith minister in 1987 and have been a enthusiastic student and teacher of mindfulness meditation since 1984.
I worked with CarePartners Hospice where I also served as a consultant in holistic treatment. As a hospice counselor I was a community bereavement educator to local businesses, churches and community organizations. I have been a speaker and educator at trauma recovery conferences and seminars for victims of murder, suicide and sudden death.
